Other than the clouds, the weather will be a nice reprieve from wind and snow we've had. 65/50 on Fri, and an early night Sat with rain on my tarp sounds dreamy right now.

Haven't been to Sonyea yet, just moved back to the area last Sept. Howisit?

This thread is a nice bit of nostalgia for me, as I grew up in Salamanca, (and skied at Holiday Valley) but haven’t been back for years... I remember playing in the woods near those trails, and picnicking at Little Rock City. Maybe someday I’ll go back just to hike that trail

I need to confirm later, sorry to say. My dad has a recent cancer diagnosis, thought this weekend was clear but there may be some hospital support I need to assist with - should know by later this afternoon.

    Fingers crossed...

    Thanks, appreciate the thought.

Unfortunately, looks like I'm going to need to take a raincheck on my own hike. I'm itching to see the area, was talking w/ the president of WNYMBA and they're in the midst of connecting this area with reaches further south for an ~85 mile mountain bike & camping trail. Told him I'd show up with my bike, my hammock & some tools to help out and he was all for it.

I digress. LMK if you still opt to check it out, the weather on Sat is looking rather bleak, but the loop around Rock City is 7-8 miles and would be great to do tomorrow at least.

I'm leaning on still heading down. Probably just for an over night.
