    Over Cover Water Repellent Treatment?

I just ordered my new Sparrow Dream Hammock with an over cover.
I ordered the 1.6 oz HyperD Diamond Ripstop over cover.
I was thinking about treating it with some water repellent (Nikwax or similar).
I was thinking about this, as just a little extra protection in case of some crazy rainy wind, a leak in the tarp, etc.
I know that the over cover is not designed to weather proof the hammock.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience regarding this? Any suggestions?

HyperD fabric already has a DWR finish. I don't think you'd gain anything by trying to add another treatment upfront. In time you could always reapply using one of these treatments if you felt it had worn off.
