    WTB: Tarp

Hi! I want to buy a good tarp, but don't want to go broke doing it. I want to be able to use it in cold or warm weather. I am 6'4" tall, if that matters any. Can anyone help?

There are some good tarps out there for around $100. Look at OES, Backwoods, Warbonnet, and JRB all have tarps for about that price and its worth the $$$. Your tarp is your shelter and you don't want it to be too heavy or cheap in construction. You won't regret it. I've got the MacCat Deluxe and its a great tarp.

Other members have said that it is less costly to buy quality the first time than to continuously upgrade. I agree with this completely, having owned several tarps before finding HF. Any of those that mbiraman suggested are well respected and are made by HF members. In the same caliber is the Speer Winter Tarp. Some of these may not include guylines.

Definitely check out Speer's sale. An 8' x 10' cat tarp for $66 is a deal.

The CT has 3 tie outs per side and the WT has 4 ..... you are able to close off the ends much better with the WT.
I have a WT and like it a lot. Just got it in the late fall. It is a really good deal ... a lot of tarp for the $$$

FYI I bought the last Speer winter tarp in Grey this morning but he still has some 8 X 10 cat tarps left.
Former hiker due to health issues those days are over.
