Thread: Hello from MI!

    Hello from MI!

Hi all, Im new here and just wanted to introduce myself. Ive been a casual backpacker most of my life but just recently got back into it after a long hiatus. My brother sold me on hammock camping last fall (he has a Warbonnet and loves it) and I'm currently in the process of updating my bag and gear from the old HEAVY stuff I was using 15 years ago to the more reasonable weight stuff thats available today. Man its a good time to be a backpacker!

Im planning my first outing for the year at the beginning on May, a two or 3 nighter in the Cranberry Wilderness of WV with my dad and brother. Look for my post on the subject in the outings section.

    Go Great Lake Loons.

I am taking a group of scouts hiking and camping along Lake Superior this early fall for 3 days.
I think Michigan is one of the best states to hang.

    Enjoy

It is! But I noticed places have gotten so much busier in the past 5 years...so let's be sure to tell everyone how bad it is going forward!

The wife and I did pictured rocks last year late summer. Couldn't recommend it more. And Welcome aboard.

I'll also recommend pictured rocks, we did it last summer and it was an awesome hike. Plan on doing it again this year.
