Generally can't bring wood into sites in MA, definitely State Forests. Concerns about invasive insect species such as The Asian Longhorn Beetle. And The Emerald Ash Borer are very real. Over 15,000 trees in Worcester had to be taken down a year ago, whether in peoples yards, the street, or woods.
Buy the approved wood at the site.

BTW... I will be out for this hang, and hope I can make the Great Pumpkin hang in a week.

How are the ticks this time of year? Can I get away with untreated clothes?

NO ticks now. They have been quite light this summer. Don't worry about it. I have not seen one and I have been crashing around the woods.

I believe if you are in the same area that the trees are in that is fine. otherwise they don't want to introduce nasty bug species.

No. You can't bring wood into any Massachusetts State Park. If you want a fire, you have to buy the wood from them.

this is to prevent the spread of pests.

I'm sadly going to miss this event. Heading back to Florida on some family business temporarily. I'll be catching up with the hang circuit in the future though.
