I plan to explore Laurel Fork this Spring or Summer, hiking from the South. There are a number of wilderness areas near Dolly Sods that are less traveled. Seneca Creek is nice, and someone posted good comments about Roaring Plains. And Otter Creek is nearby, too. Post a trip report after your ride.

Welcome ppfd! Lots of WV'ers in here. Gotta little WV blood in me as well as my daddy was born and raised in Logan.

I wanna go! Huh, huh can I huh!?

Please remember to debarb your hooks and release the bigguns and keep a few lil uns to eat...you know limit your catch, not catch your limit.

I nominate fresh caught native brookies and fresh dug ramps as the official WV hammock hanger's official spring tonic.

I'm all for that! Those ramps will be peaking their purple tips up soon and some kid's gonna get kicked off a school bus cuz his skin will be reeking of ramps! Oops, I don't think they can do that any more. But the bus drivers in Pocahantas county used to do it back in the late 60's!

I've actually got an old ultralight fishing rig, but didn't use it on the few trips where i took it along. Now maybe I'll go back and try again, especially now that I'm legal (i.e. - old enough not to need a license). Spklbuk, I'll take your advice, right down to debarbing the hooks. And, as to ramps, no persuasion needed there. I ramps! Shug, you like ramps?

    Thanks all!
The Dolly Sods trip may be a possibility as well.

Correct on the firefighter as well as paramedic and PICU RN part time.
