PA > MidHHA > Minister Creek ANF > July 2018 - Group Hang Planning

Wanted to gauge interest and availability for returning to Minister Creek Recreation Area in Allegheny National Forest this summer. We’ve got a nice little tradition started, and that seems worth preserving. I’m leaning towards the weekend of 7/6-7/8, but that’s hardly set in stone if another weekend in July works better for everyone.

As before, we’ll be camping a short ways off the trail leading south from the parking lot on Rt. 666. This is essentially car camping, so non-hikers are able to participate as well. Ground dwellers are also welcome, as are dogs (I don’t recall if leashes are obligatory, but certainly encouraged).

The last two summer hangs at Minister Creek have been a blast, and we’d love to have an even bigger turnout this year!

I’d love to come out, I will have to wait and see what is going on. As for July 6-8, I can’t make it. But if the dates change, I’d love to participate and meet new hangers.

We just got back from the spring MAHHA hang. It was our first group hang. We had a lot of fun. It'd be great to get down to one of the hangs at Minister Creek. Unfortunately, we'll be in Glacier NP the weekend of July 6-8.But, I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what you come up with.

Wow! You have to word that differently because it's never unfortunate to be in Glacier!
Minister Creek is great. I hope to make it.

Sounds like 13-15 might be a better weekend all around. Anyone have objections?

I just looked at what I had planned, and it turns out that I can make it 7/6-7/8. But any weekend should be good.
