I place my tips down, handle up and wrap 2 loops of my guy line around the handle and down to the ground. I've never had one fall so you may just need some better stakes and a tighter tie.

I do the same with my pole pitched slightly out. It works kind of like securing the pole to the ground, with the tarp keeping the pole up rather than the pole keeping the tarp up.

I make sure my trekking poles are sticking far enough into the ground to stand on their own. Wrap the line around the cork handle. Stake to ground.

Make sure your line is long enough to get a few feet between your stake and trekking pole.

Use an appropriate stake for your area. The soil is loose for me in FL so a Shepard’s hook or spike can be pulled out of the ground by a good wind so I use “Y” shaped stakes. When I hiked in the mountains up north though there were times I could barely get my y-stakes into the ground because of the hard soil and rocky terrain. a Shepard’s hook or spike would have worked better in that area.

Judging by your picture, it looks like you need to pull the tarp and line tighter. Make sure your poles are straight up and down when everything is tight. I usually start with my poles leaning inward toward the hammock. That way they straighten out when I tension the line. Lastly, I would recommend staking the line out further away from the pole. This will give better stability.

Yeah, tighter AND make sure there is a slight slope downward. Not just to drain water, but to get good downward force on it. It looks like yours is level or even angled up a bit.

I like to put the points thru the triangle rings on mine, but it depends on your pole type and tarp ring type. That gives a much cleaner/tighter setup than wrapping cord/knots around the handle.

I used to do this but my nice cork handles would get wet and dirty.
