Hi.
Do you just sew the sledge into the Hem or do you cut it off? (When dealing with Nylon or Silnylon)
Thanks!
edit: Selvedge is a rather weird word...

Unless it's really big and ugly I just roll it into the hem on my hammocks.
Roll hem and it goes away.
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.
Depends. Sometimes if the selvage is left on it affects how the finished item handles.
So sometimes I leave the fabric, juat the way it came from the mill. Other times I remove the selvage, just depends on the fabric and the project.
I left it on one time and wished I'd cut it off. Had to roll my hem larger than I wanted and it was a little extra slippery with the loose fibers in the hem. Still worked out fine, though. Just a little extra work.
When dealing with coated fabrics (sil) sometimes the selvedge isn’t coated. So if that is used at the ridgeline the combination of little holes and non-treated edge can create a comprised RL.
