Same here, but constantly tinkering. I ended up sticking with my BB during shoulder season and now have extended it to the winter seasons thanks to my Wookie (DH Sparrow is pretty much retired). Now it’s just summer that I use a Half-wit cause it so light and only time I can go ultralight. I have a Ridge Runner for zero mile camping and will be experimenting with a half-zip this spring.

My first real Hammock was the double layer Blackbird XLC. Still have it, still love it. My current hammock is a double layer Chameleon from Dutchware, that I sleep full time in. They are both great hammocks and both excellent companies to deal with.

First hammock was a Guidesman hammock from Mendards and actually used it a lot. I had a lot of great trips with it. I now use a Chameleon in the summer and a Hammock Gear standard hammock in the winter.

My first was a Hennessy Expedition Asym, I knew I wanted to try to get off the ground, but it was just not as comfortable as I wanted it to be, came here, got some advice and got a Warbonnet Black Bird, then an xlc (when it came out), then I tried about 5 other cottage makers, then the Ridgerunner, been using the Ridgerunner ever since!

First: DIY 13 foot whipped end hammock that I still use for lollygagging in the back yard.
Current: Dutch Chameleon with top cover... But I've been eyeballing the new quilted Chameleon!

My first was a Dutchware 11' gathered end with a Summer Sock and a HG 20* under quilt. I added a 30* HG Econ top quilt and a Hennessey Hammock asym tarp.

Now I'm rocking and absolutely loving my Amok Draumr, I have the regular and winter pads for it and grabbed the Skjøld tarp. I love every bit of kit, the tarp is fantastic and super easy to hang. The Amok is fabulous and I was in it 14 days straight last summer.

Being a stomach/side sleeper, I tried to make a regular hammock work but the Amok is the way to go. I sold the UQ use the TQ in the Amok and loan out the hammock and stuff to my kids and their friends.

First hammock was made out a canvas drop cloth folded in thirds. Using a blue poly tarp. Spent a summer in my best friends backyard getting back on my feet. Than moved onto a table cloth hammock and a diy stand when I got a place. Oh boy the bug hit me had and I had to diy a legit hammock. That followed by a tarp because I want to camp with it. Found out bugs suck so sheer curtains from Walmart and I had a bug net. Quilts were in here at some point. Move onto a noseum fronkey bug net. I know I tried a couple of extra designs on traps next. Followed by an xl hammock when the fabric came out. Lastly my two traps i currently have. Lots of sewing stuff sacks, splicing line, and time spent reading these forums sprinkled though out all that time. Could I have saved time and probably mkney buying everything yes, but that’s not me. I love seeing a project come to life after months of planning and execution.

A HH Expedition Asym Zip converted me from tent camping forever. I loved my HH even more once I changed out the suspension and got a bigger tarp. Then I went to a 11 ft DW netless with a Fronkey. The extra space and going ziperless was liberating. Though I still occasionally use both of those rigs, I’ve since upgraded to an 11 ft HG Circadian Pro. It is my new favorite. I don’t see myself upgrading again for a while. The Circadian Pro fits me just right. I love that it doesn’t have a dedicate direction. I can toss and turn and change direction to my heart’s content. FWIW I’ve always slept like a rotisserie chicken. I toss less in a hammock than a bed, but I’ll alway be a squirmy thing.

My first was a WWII army surplus jungle hammock, which my father bought around 1950. I used it on family camping trips from age 5 or 6.
Around 1986 someone gave me a cotton Mayan hammock which I used a lot in the woods, but didn't sleep overnight in it.
The first (and only) hammock I purchased myself was an early Hennessey, just before he switched to asym bugnet design. I successfully modified mine to keep up with the times.
Since then, many DIY models, including insulated GE hammocks (starting about 2009), a right angle hammock (2011?), and insulated bridge hammocks, culminating in the Peoples Bridge Hammock, which is a keeper.
