    Hanging Light From Ridgeline

Just wondering what kind of light everyone uses in their hammock? I've been using a UCO Flip light but it's dying on me so I'm looking to replace it. I think I'm going to pick either one of these up:

I like how you can hang it from the ridgeline and it seems to give off a nice light...

I mostly larkshead my headlamp around the ridgeline, but if I'm feeling fancy I take my solar-powered Luci light:

Luci lights. Easy, lightweight, doesn't matter if they get wet. Never failed me. All add up to winner for me. Aluminum micro biner on my ridgeline works well.

Another for just larkheading my headlamp. It's just another Petzel. I may switch it up a bit when car camping, but I just don't want the weight for backpacking.

Another, that just hangs the head lamp 90% of the time. Though, I do have an ENO moonshine that I was given and I do use that too if I am not trimming oz.

In my tenting days, I used either a Snow Peak Hozuki or UCO candle lantern. The Hosuki was a gift and, while neat, I wouldn’t replace it if something happened to it due to the cost. The candle lantern is wonderful - something about the natural flame. Mine is probably more than 20 years old and that I would replace it without hesitation. Yes, you need to take all kinds of care with it so keep that in mind. I will do a critical risk
assessment before I use it the first time in my hammock but I’m not yet ruling it out.

I like the Nite Ize Moonlit. The light produced is wide, soft and not blinding. The built in carabineer is perfect for the ridgeline and the light is directional so you can eliminate glare.

+1 on the Nite Ize MoonLit; while I use the Luci Light for extended camping, for short trips (of less than a week) I think the MoonLit can't be beat -- and it's so small and inexpensive I buy one for each hammock and just store it inside right on the ridge line...

(PS: The polymer carabiner loop with spring gate is even kind to bug netting.)
