    MO: Hazel Creek Hang

Is anyone interested in a hang fest at Hazel Creek sometime in the next few weeks? It's a nice, secluded, campground on the OT a few miles south west from Potosi, MO. I believe it is free camping.

Depending on the dates, I'd be interested but I'll be out of state until the 3rd of June; I'll check back in and if it's after that, I'd be interested.

I hang in that area from time to time. Berryman trail is another good area of you get there early enough for a spot. Really have to watch for all the poison ivy though if you've never been. All free camping in the national forest and if the grounds are full just hike in on the OT a bit and pick your own spot!

The next few weeks are gonna be busy for me, but I'll keep a watch here for a determined date.

I've been hiking/running the Berryman Trail since the 80's! I was the original race director for the Berryman Trail races in the late 90's. The last couple of times on the trail, I've encountered aggressive mountain bikers that just wouldn't slow down while I was trying to find a place to get off trail to let them by. I love that trail, but don't want to get run over...

I might be interested in Hazel Creek some time. It's been on my radar. I need a weekend when I don't have to ferry my daughter back and forth to work. I believe I can ride into Hazel Creek, so that's a plus for me.

We're definitely overdue for a MO group hang but you guys will have to set it up and lead it. I'll be back in state this Saturday but have to return to Vermont on business on the 8th for 3 more weeks. I'm thinking August is the earliest I'm available. The upside is I've been able to do some awesome hiking in the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. But I'll have to say, these mountains are kicking my butt after all the years of hiking the relatively flat terrain of Missouri!!

I wish! Sounds like fun! I'm from Kansas and would love to make it out but I don't have the time right now.

I'll be hiking/hanging/backpacking/whatever on Th and or Fri (7/5,6). Hazel Creek is an option, but there are lot's of great places in MO. One nice thing is that Hazel Creek has great flow, so access to water shouldn't be a problem. It is also remote, so crowds are unlikely. If anyone is interested, let me know and we'll agree on a time/place. Otherwise, I'll just follow my muse to whereever. :-)
