Post up your plans once decided so we can meet up if possible. Maybe for a day hike or quick overnight for those of us who can't take 4 days off.

NJ Pine Barrens Batona Trail Hike

My current plan is staying Friday night in Bass River.
Saturday - Bass River to Buttonwood Hill
Sunday - Buttonwood Hill to Batona*
Monday - Batona to Brendan Byrne*
Tuesday - Brendan Byrne to Ong*

    * - may change, depending on how the hike goes. I may cut Sunday shorter, alternate plan would be:

Sat - Bass River to Buttonwood Hill
Sun - Buttonwood Hill to Lower Forge
Mon - Lower Forge to Batona
Tue - Batona to Brendan Byrne
Wed - Brendan Byrne to Ong

I began to have severe cramps the first night. I had plenty of water to drink, 3+ liters of water. I guess I needed to replace the electrolytes I lost.

Yup probably electrolytes. My last hike made me rethink my first aid kit. 8 miles in the White Mountains plenty of water but still got cramps. Very hot lots of sweat. I now add nuun tablets to my water. Still need to get some rehydration salts for my first aid kit. Supposedly a little Himalayan salt and dehydrated coconut water help too.
