    Zing it vs Notch Acculine?

    Hi,

I’m just getting into hammock camping and have gone from the line included with my hammock/tarp, to paracord, and now I’m looking at zing it. I’ve seen this other brand Notch Acculine on Amazon. Has anyone tried it? Is there a difference? Thanks for your help.

I haven't used it, but the specs look similar (or slightly better) than Zingit/Lashit, and it's a little cheaper, so it could be a good find.

I am pretty sure zpacks used to offer this line or something very very similar... It works akin to Zing-It, but if I remember correctly I wasn't fond of the coating nor the softness/drape the cordage had. I could be wrong though.

I agree that it looks like the Zpacks stuff (Z-line slick cord), at a darn good price!

Thanks for the info! My main reason for considering was that it ships from Amazon which would work with my “add on” items. If I get it, I’ll share my experience. Thanks again!

FWIW, on Amazon it's $33.33, and a 180' spool of ZingIt is currently $29 at DutchWareGear.com (although shipping is extra). And I never have any problems finding "add on" items from DutchWare...

It's $23 at Home Depot with free shipping to the store.

I saw it at Treestuff.com last weekend while looking for Lash-it. Looks interesting, but I stuck with the known quantity for now. I'd imagine the Acculine would work great for Lash-it/Zing-it applications such as SRL's and tarp RL's.

I got it yesterday at Home Depot.... it took a few days for the order to get there. Worked out fine since I had to pick up some other stuff anyway.

This is a good find. It has a shiny/waxy looking finish from the urethane coating. It is slick, but so is untreated dyneema.

It holds a bowline and kalmyk just fine, but not adjustable hitches such as tautline/midshipman or blakes. However, a prusik made with Atwood Micro cord held fine.
