Bottom Entry burnet vs Summer Sock

I need some bug protection, and I知 debating between the bottom entry vs the summer sock with zipper. I知 leaning towards the sock, mainly because it incorporates a UQP and I can also make it work as an oversized easy slug and keep everything together and stuff it all into my pack as a single unit.

Has anyone used both? Thoughts on pluses/minuses? Other than weight, is there an advantage for the bottom entry vs the sock? If I went with the bottom entry, I would likely still use my slug, so the weight difference won稚 be that great.

    Thanks for any input.

I like my summer sock. I can be a pain when needing to use the rest room if you have lofty UQ. I think the more heavy you are the harder yo get out but the sock can be challenging if your bladder is full. I still go with summer sock because of the flipping aspect.

Does turning it make a difference? I wondered about it because I would think it would make your UQ more susceptible to loosing heat from the wind.

I turn it in the morning to block The fire orb. I知 sure you lose any heat down below but gain some above. I mainly do it for dimming the morning.

Ah, that makes sense. Especially in summer when the sun likes to wake you up nice and early.

Bottom entry for me. Can't stand fiddling with zippers. I stuff all my hammock, quilts & bug net together with no problem.

You keep everything inside the Bugnet? Hammock, TQ and UQ?

I keep my hammock, UQ, and fronkey style bugnet all fit just fine, and pack well into my double ended stuff sack that came with my netless hammock from Dutch. I would have room for a lighter TQ, if I owned one. I love the ease of set up this way, when I am backpacking, and that nothing hits the ground during set up and take down. I love my bugnet as much as I love my hammock. I find the drawstring on the bottom of the net is super simple and works just fine in keeping out the bugs too.

Yes, I stuff it all together in a roll-top dry bag.
Oh, I have no draw string on the bottom. Everything is treated with Permithrin.
