Me, Groundhog and a few more made it up Thursday. Lots of nice folks here and many have filed in day by day. Good turnout!

Oh wow! I wish I had made it!
This was our first John Rock hang and it was great. Natalie, Lacey (our beagle) and I arrived Thursday afternoon after waiting a bit for a rain cloud to pass over. The trail was a bit soggy but that just meant the Cedar Rock waterfall was even more impressive. We setup our hammocks in an enchanted grove of trees while Foxpoop walked Lacey around (much appreciated). We made some dinner and then enjoyed sitting around the campfire that night. A few lies might have been told.
Friday morning we woke up to enjoy the runners jogging by, some in costume. They must get up early to make it to our camp by 6:30 or so.
We then broke camp after breakfast to head up to the high country near Shining Rock. It was pretty cloudy up there so we had limited views but the wildflowers were out so we didn’t mind.
It was great seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.

It was good to see old pros and noobies alike.
All the kids were real good. When I was a kid—-
I was good on Monday Wednesday and Friday—-
and took the weekend off. The chili dog meal was excellent thanks to Athenawise, Tacoma, and Jeremy Bones. Thank you fire builders Bush and the rest. Thanks to Foxpoop, TitaniamPyro, and Tacoma bring heavy wood up the mountain. Thanks Peeeeetey and Deborah for the big tarp.
PappyAmos had fun with the tree ropes. And thank you all for your stories and ribbing and excellent real coffee Snwcmpr. We welcome all noobs, some new to hammocks and some new to the group. You are no longer noobies and are now old pros. So many great rigs. Between Cajunracer, Trambo, GroundHog and Mooseman there was no shortage of tall tales and good natured ribbing—-with spontaneous adlibs from Intimidator and Foxpoop.
Get well soon Big Bill
Snwcmpr’s stories are even better than his wonderful coffee.
Thanks all for picking with me
