Got my black sil in the mail today -- Can't wait to start my tarp. (gotta lube the old sewing machine my mom gave me and I should be good to go)

Did it bother anybody else slightly that your credit card number, expiration date, and security code was printed on the shipping slip and simply scribbled over with ballpoint pen (easily readable still)?

How waterproof is this stuff? The guy I talked to said it is water repelant but their are no guarantees because it is second.

Btw, the colors currently in stock are:
    Black
    Navy
    Royal Blue
    Grey
    Purple
    Cantaloupe

    Quote 63'' wide

The reason this thread was started was the difficulty in getting black in such lengths. The stuff is real nice. Also, the color names they go by aren't necessarily very accurate compared to other sites. The cantalope color I bought was... extremely bright hunter orange/blood orange.

Call the number on the website - they don't post online their stock.

Does anyone have an issue that this is 2nd quality sil? Has anyone had any success using this fabric?

The stuff is fantastic. I had a section that had some minor discoloration at the end of a roll.

Yeah -- My ten yards was flawless as far as I could tell, maybe a little extra selvage than is normal, but it was an excellent deal for the price.

My friend at work (gotta give him a trail name...) ordered some of the orange when I told him about the place. He brought in a stuff sack he made, and the fabric looked really nice. I asked him if he had done a waterproof test, and he was asking details about how to do it. He hasn't reported back. This wasn't ripstop, from what I could tell, more of a taffeta.

He also ordered orange amsteel when I called in my order. After 20 years in the military, he says he's tired of black.

I just ordered 24 yards of the black and the wife is going to make a couple of 12' x 10' tarps for us.

Once she is done I will post up reviews and my test results for the fabric.

When I talked with the guy; he said he also had other weights of RipStop, but that all of them were SilNylon.

For $3.00 a yard... you can't beat it...
