I think I'm in the Early IN and Out Late group. I'd like to stay as long as my food and whiskey last.
I'm also looking at some portage packs. So far it's between the Sea to Summit Hydraulic Dry 90l pack and MEC Slogg HD 70 dry pack. I figure with my back I should probably stay away from the big 115+ bags for a while.
edit- I'm waffling on bag size. I want to take week + trips so maybe get the 115 and use what I can carry or get a 65 for now and a 115 later.

So are you still interested in going tandem in my canoe? I'm guessing you haven't picked one up yet. I'll even bring a comfy seat with back support for you (for the canoe).
I'm planning going up Wed. Aug. 1st, back out on Tue. Aug. 7th (to avoid cottage traffic nightmares). Does that match your plans?
If you want to borrow a dry bag instead of buying you can use one of my Sealine bags, I've got a few. They're 115 litre but filling them to the brim is optional. Unless you're like me, then it's a given they'll be stuffed beyond full. Just a thought.
P.M. me if 'yes' to any of above & we can hash out details.

Hiya all - although not able to join this trip - however Shawn James (my self reliance) has at least two videos on the French (I'm sure there are others)- I can definitely understand the draw.
Good luck to all going - hopes for good weather and few bugs.

Wow, I would have loved to join you, but my 5-day solo hike in Algonquin starts on the 6th, so I don't see how it works...
I've signed up for notifications on the Planning thread, so I can possibly get in on the Fall event, work commitments allowing.
Does anyone that is going on this trip have a loaner tent??? I don't own a tent and with me eyeing a canoe, funds are going to be tight.

Tent?
I think your on the wrong forums my friend. lol
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.
Yeah, I knew I'd catch some flack on that one. I guess worst case scenario I could rig hiking poles to suspend the bug net on the ridge runner. Next issue is I don't have a thermarest or any ground pads. Let's just say I'm not exactly preped to go to the ground.

Wish you were coming on the trip. I'm jumping out of my skin to get out there!
Going to the Doc on Wednesday, I better get the ALL'S CLEAR.
