Looking forward to the start of August and getting out onto the Bay!

Any thoughts on route/destination?
As appealing as Tanvat Island seems, I'm suggesting we set up a basecamp somewhere more inshore since waves on the bay can be big at times. It would still leave the option for exploring but provide a place for congregation.
Suggestions - Dores Run at the mouth of fox creek (sites 916-920, 925, 929)
- Garbage Bay at the bottom of the Western Channel (723-728, 806-810)
Both get us a bit away from the busier main channel and provide options.
Great suggestions Keg. My preference is the latter, but only because of its proximity to the historic Voyageur route. Can always do it another time, so no biggie. Right now a sewage ditch sounds great, just need to get out.
I'm assuming these areas are within reasonable reach for weekenders?

Sooo wish I could I could make this trip. My Schedule just doesnt work out for this hang.
After seeing Philip Edward Island last fall I got hooked on the scenery on the coast. Pure eye candy!
ENJOY !
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.
Sewage ditch, Garbage Bay? Nice!
I think Garbage Bay would be a perfect spot for a couple of nights.

I'm still getting my feet wet with the unlostify maps. I still don't fully understand the travel time color coded squares. Dummy... Looking over the map I have noticed that there actually are some portages. I'm seeing a 310M portage on Main Canoe Channel by Dalles Rapids and the Eastern Outlet has a 10 M and 50 M portage.
Reading good things about the fishing on the French. I'm hoping for another fishing first and catch my first walleye.
Looking at the map, an area I'd like to hit is the French River Village Ruins on the Main Canoe Channel.
Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...
For the Unlostify maps, I think each square represents one unit of travel (20 min at a relaxed pace, 15 min at a typical/average pace, 12 min for a speedy pace). Blacks are portages.
It'd definitely be cool to check out the village ruins.

looks like an awesome adventure is at hand folks - looking forward to some post trip pics.
Niagara
Having said that, looking back at past posts and Chard's master trip spreadsheet, it doesn't look like we actually have any weekenders coming. At least none that have piped up.
Perhaps it would be a good time for those who haven't already to indicate their intentions for planning purposes? If no weekenders coming we will only be limited by the wind & our whiskey supply.
I'm Wed - Tues
