I think I'll plan on traveling light for the christening. I have to come up with a name for her too.

Well I guess French wasn't meant to be yet. I'd be up for a Fall trip there. Gives me more time to prep going to the ground. Don't like the idea of sleeping on the ground but it looks like it's worth it to get to places like the French and P.E.I
Yeah, I'm rethinking my food & gear selections too. Never fear, we'll pitch in & make sure everybody gets in & out without risking an injury.

You're thinking P.E.I.? I'm heading there the day after this trip (ergo my need to return the 7th) ... it's gorgeous, some very nice places to camp & paddle, we'll talk!

Unfortunately, fire ban covers almost everywhere we might go. Even some places not banned by the Ministry are restricted by municipalities. Might change, but not optimistic. Hate leaving my Kelly Kettle at home, but looks like my Dragonfly will have to come out of storage. Darned noisy thing.

Looking forward to drooling over your new boat.

I'm sure we can help with the beer (before, during, or after the portage).

    I've booked a permit.

Though we may want to change the last night depending on how much of a rush people are to get out on the 8th. Cauchon to the parking lot is about 4.5 h according to Jeff's maps.

Just been reading this thread and feel bad for all the uncertainty going on but it's like I said in the Spring, it's the time with friends that matters most. I hope you all have a great trip wherever you end up. I'll be looking forward to any reports or pics.

The good news is that we can do the French in the fall when hopefully you'll be able to come.
