Yep. I also tried to do what you did. The continuous loop attachment seems to affect how the hammock hangs.

    Remove bugnet completely.
    Remove elastic straps.
Remove the black cord that keeps the gathered end in a bunch/bundle.
    Remove continuous loop.
    Reverse the process for installation.

NOTE that the black cord is very short. Even my small fingers had extreme difficulty with its reinstall. Have extra zpacks 1mm polyester cord handy..
Do not take your BlackBird apart. Warbonnet has a very specific way of pleating the BB.

My mom took her BBs apart to be sure they dried after being washed. She put the hammocks back the way she thought they should go. The lay was not right!

The birds were sent back to Warbonnet to be rewrapped.

So do not take yor bird apart, you do not need to take the new XLC apart to reverse the lay.

This may give insight....1:30 in and 3:07 in.
All you do is flip the bugnet, not the actual hammock.

Looks like ironfish advises not to take it apart. I've slept in mine for 8 nights since it was reversed. I'm often OCD about things, so doubt I'll have trouble.

Looking forward to hear from warbonnetguy though..

Shug clearly explains how to reverse the lay the way Warbonnet intended.

Hah. I was under the impression that the footbox only worked one way. Therefore, I only tried turning the hammock inside out. I guess I should flip it back one of these days..

I forget to mention in the previous instructions that I also repositioned the structural ridgeline so that everything would hang properly.

Had I been smarter, I would've looked up instructions rather than doing the manly thing and diving straight into the tinkering phase.. In all honesty, as long as care is made, one can take it apart and put it together without significant issue. If I can do it with less than 20 hammock nights, then a rocket scientist isn't really necessary.

Thanks everyone for your help here,I was trying to position the shelf on my right and the foot box on the left. then i saw a pic from above on warbonnet outdoors and she hit me.
For some reason that felt like a comfy way to lay.(room for my dog) Maybe i can get a net made with that config?? Anyway thanks for helping it to sink in!

You reverse the lay by removing the net/top, flipping it inside out and then zipping it back on. Do not do anything to the suspension or the hammock body.
