I agree. I've been buying on eBay for many, many years and have only lost a snipe bid if the other bidder put in a higher bid.

The last one I saw on there went for more than retail, and it wasn't even a Deluxe. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one go for 150.

this is true. maybe hooch just had a change of mind as he thought about it after the fact, rather than just purposely biding for something he knew he didn't want.

based on what he said (quote below) he wanted to bid on silnylon but found this instead so he bid on it just for the silnylon...is the silnylon alone worth that much of a bid???

hooch knows that you can get silnylon from ed for $4.00 a yard. i don't hardly think he bid on it just to be getting silnylon.
my guess was that he bid on it because of all the talk about the high quality of the mac cat tarps.
i know i've looked longingly at a lot of gear that i knew i really couldn't afford to be buying. sometimes i went ahead & bought it even though i shouldn't have.

Why are we making a party out of Hooch's Ebay practices? Regardless of whether or not this is something he does on a regular basis - or even on purpose - it's HIS BUSINESS! Can we cut the guy some slack, please?

    Seriously - stop the bickering.

If you think it'll go for that low price, why not just let Hooch have it then send him the $75+shipping? But I bet it'll go up to at least MSRP anyway.

I make a lot of low bids on things. Theres always a few (there are millions of users afterall) that make a lot higher bids on them, so it don't matter. It's pretty rare to actually win with a lowball bid, but I always pay, gladly.

Speaking of eBay, I noticed a Camo Hennessy Ultimate Survivor went for $293. What's the MSRP on them things?
