I have Richard Nixon's signature on my Eagle Scout certificate, that's how old I am. New to camping hammocks, have had cotton webbers in the yard since forever ago. I've camped up and down the Rockies since childhood and now I camp from my Jeep or motorcycle, no hiking/backpacking anymore, weight/volumn is not an issue. I bought a HH Leaf Lounger XL, 55$ on sale for analysis, liked it and went BIG with the Jungle Safari Zip 130$ (no tarp). Both were great bargains I feel. I've read hundreds, if not thousands of the posts here and found the collection of knowledge so vast, it's great to have this wealth of experience to draw upon. Took sewing classes at Joanne's so I can make tarps or if I want to modify my Leafer. I am putting a integrated net on my Leafer in the event I can get the Mrs to camp, but likely she won't. S'ok, I'll introduce my old friends to hammock camping. Summer... well it's 100 degrees here and likely will be for the next couple of months, nights don't really cool off enough. I'm set up outside in the event it does cool off some night, but not counting on it. I'm set up in a spare room in the house as well. We old fellers camp/fish/hunt in spring and fall, on family owned properties in the southern lower reaches of the beautiful Flint Hills here in Kansas, I really want to go now but will stand by for better weather. Be well.
