I was wondering 'why the big hiking staff?', then I saw the picture of the snake.

Then I said 'He needs a bigger stick!'
thanks for the pics. Nice to see some ground not covered in snow...

Nice photos. Thanks for a vicarious hike on a snowy morning in KY. I read up a bit on Tiger snakes after seeing the photo and was surprised to see they have been reported found in Richmond KY. Hmmm....

Maybe I should become a snowbird and winter downunder, being that I do HVAC . Thanks for the pics. It's cool seeing what it looks like in other parts of the world. Was there any water in the tanks or did you have to carry? I got thirsty just looking at the pictures.

Yes the tank was about 3/4 full, so plenty enough for the rest of this summer. Then as long as we get some rain it will top up again over winter.

Nice trip - thanks for posting the album link. I've been to Aus. once, had a rather poisonous snake working it's way into my sleeping bag the first night. That was quite a story that ended with a bunch of boys screaming like girls, running, and me cutting it in half while contorted enough to make a gymnast proud. I don't remember sleeping well after that.
