3 to 4 hours away and 200 miles or so on average. Northern Michigan is a pretty easy drive up I75 from the SE part of the state.

Farthest to date for a group hang has been about just shy of four hours by car. I prefer to be not too far from home, unless my family is along for the trip.

Farthest you've gone for a group hang?

738 miles, 11.5 hours by car each way from Lawrence, KS to the Sawbill Lake campground in Tofte, MN for the 2018 Frozen Butt Hang in January. Packed our car to the gills for three of us, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

I think of it fondly just about everyday, and can’t wait to see all those fine people again.

The mountains are calling, and I must go...

8 hours max. But almost everything is 3-4.5 hours for me, north or south. 80% of the time I head north to northern MI, group or solo. While nothing is really close, I do like having the option of being able to play the weather. That 3 hours in either direction can be HUGE! I passed on a hang last winter where it was in the 30s with 8+ inches of snow to go south where it was 70° and sunny. I enjoy both types of weather, but again, having the option to choose at the last minute is great. I was just done with winter at that point. Variety keeps me sane.

490 miles to the MAHA in PA and 780 to HangCon in Florida.

Most hangs I attend are a 3 to 5 hour drive.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
