SLD winter haven with WB RR first time setup

    Hi all,

Setup my olive drab Simply Light Designs Winter Haven with my Warbonnet RidegeRunner hammock today for the first time. My tarp has the interior pole mod and line loc 3s installed and also a single mesh snakeskin with line management pockets. It’s so simple to setup and take down. And porch mode can be accomplished in a matter of seconds. Just pull the line or let some out on the line locs. Awesome.

Thanks Jared. I love this tarp.

That turned out great and I really like that olive drab. I think the line-locs are the best innovation for adjusting tarp pull out lines out there. Simple, easy and cheap and there's nothing to lose. I always have a knot on the tightening end and a loop on the other end for the stake. That way, I can set up and adjust in the dark, even with gloves on.

Enjoy that new addition to the fleet!

    Hi 22hornet,

The RR fits in great when not in porch mode. It fits in comfortably when both sides are tied down and doors closed with a a good deal of room inside, but this is probably because I have a 12’ tarp AND the interior pole mod.

Without the pole mod, the RR would still be fine, but it might touch the sides of the tarp if the hammock sways or moves a bit (which is inevitable).

When I ordered with Jared, I told him I wanted a tarp to work with the specs of my RR, and it does just that. I also went with silpoly and straight cuts as silpoly won’t stretch as much and I liked he idea of more coverage at the bottom.

All in all, the tarp is awesome, easy to setup and take down, and extremely small and light for its size when taken down into its single snakeskin. The poles obviously add weight, but for not having to use sticks or trecking poles for porch mode, it’s totally worth it to me.

And, as EVERYONE has said, Jared is fantastic to work with.

Great looking tarp! Quick question on the LineLoc's if you don't mind...do you leave your line attached when you tear down your tarp?

My lines always remain tied to the line-locs and just slide easily, along with my WH, into the single snakeskin made by Jared. Makes for a very manageable tear down, packing, and later when setting up.

That's the nice thing about the common 2-3mm line, it doesn't tangle very easily. You can just wad it up and let the snake skin "suck it up" along with the tarp. But I usually spend a few seconds coiling up each line just in case.

Good looking tarp here! I have a similar setup planned...just waiting, thinking that it will somehow cost less if I procrastinate
