Awesome. You go north or south more often for hiking? I haven't been to Michigan much and looking to get a trip in soon with my son.

I go north to Michigan. I love the north country and my wife and I own a little bit of land in the upper peninsula. Lots of backpacking options along the North Country Trail in Michigan. Of course lots of trails in southern Indiana as well.

Welcome from Westfield. I mostly go south to Hoosier National Forest. Easy drive from this area.

    Welcome to the Forum!

    * When I attended Ball State, I had an RA from Noblesville. I know exactly where you live.
    * There is a hang in Michigan (less than 4 hrs from you) the middle of October - Chili Festival. Usually a good size turnout, you'd be able to meet a lot of us there.
    * I'm in Milwaukee, WI and keep a bunch of hangs I know about listed in my signature - so you can see what's on the menu.

Welcome from Michigan! Come up north sometime and join in at a group hang. There's the Chili in October, Gluttony in November, Ludington in January and Green Timbers in February. Lots of trees up here!
