    Cut up all my Whoopies!!!!

I know this has been discussed in older posts( whoopies vs. UCR). But when I compared advantages to disadvantages of the whoopy sling to the UCR, the UCR overwhelmingly won out. I know there have problems with the UCR staying locked, but I finally made one that I am confident hanging on. Ill post pics and maybe a video of mine.

    Advantages of UCR.....
1.)Easier to adjust. Its the same to tighten, but much much easier to loosen(which was the problem with them in the past as they were too easy to loosen)
2.)Lighter by a gram or 2 as they use less rope to make.
3.)More compact cause they use less rope to make
4.)Did I mention it takes less rope to make?
5.)Less slack rope hanging(especially on shorter hangs)
6.))No extra loops or shackles needed for adjustment. Dont need to keep the adjustable end free Which means u can tie off to both ends and still be able to adjust.
7.)Dont have to worry about it coming off marlin spike hitch or other hardware during adjustment

    Disadvantages...
1.)It's shortest adjustable length is a little longer than the whoopies
2.)might take a few minutes longer to make.

Heres pics and video of the ones I use....

If u can think of any other advantages/disadvantages let me know.

    A suggestion, if I may:

When using acronyms, unless they are EXTREMELY well known, i.e. USA, UN, FBI, NFL, etc, always unpack the acronym the first time you use it in a post.

The only "UCR" of which I'm aware is University of California, Riverside. While I'm sure there is some whoopie going on there, something leads me to believe that's not the reference.

    Point taken. Thank you.

    UCR = Utility Constriction Rope
Similar to a whoopie sling but different.

You might want to familiarize yourself with this page of hammock acronyms.

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/content.php/149

While some of these acronyms have fallen by the wayside, UCR is just so "extremely well known" on this forum, I get CBS just thinking about it.
