    Breathable Pad?

Does anybody know if there is such a thing as a breathable pad (to reduce the chance of condensation)?

there's a couple that have some possibilities, but overall, not really
klymit has.....holey.....pads. inertia series. but I can't imagine they're great for insulation in a hammock

If a pad was breathable it probably wouldn’t hold air unless it was like a sponge.

A holey pad like the Klymit Inertia would certainly reduce condensation, but you would probably lose all insulative capabilities as well.

Back in the day (oh, say 40 years ago) we used open cell foam pads. They had to be covered with a waterproof fabric or they would soak up water. Fairly comfortable but really bulky to pack. This of course was on the ground.

I've used a pad off and on when not getting the uq set right....feel a cold spot so it was easier to suppliment with pad than adjusting uq at 2 am. I have never felt so "moist" to not use a pad again. But everyone is different and most have more time in a hammy then me.

Was thinking the same thing the last couple days. I use a pad in my 90 degree and just spent 4 nights in a ridgerunner with a pad. I like it. A lot. But, I got a little clammy at times and chilled. Not wet, but clammy.

there's a Shug video out there, where he meets up with a dude (can't remember name) and he has a ridgerunner, and some sort of foam pad in it. the pad has simpson's speed holes in it, and I remember it simply because shug turns to the camera and makes a snarky comment about "oh yeah, that'll save you 27 grams" in one of the voices he does (not Karl tho)

don't ask me why I remember that detail, i just remember giggling

there was a dog too, iirc. sadie or something.

why I remember details like that, I have no idea

oddly enough, shug + sadie found it quick on youtube. there's also apparently a rapper named shug sadie!

edit: 12 minute mark for the 27 grams, haha
