I wouldn't trust a machine washer with any of my down things.. Hand wash in a bath tub, then you can gently squeeze it dry & bring it to the laundromat in a contractor bag to dry! Did this for many years while living in NYC..

I know this may seem off topic, but dirty down does absolutely effect packable volume..
