    Snoqualmie, WA campground hanging help!

So I have been in touch with Dynamistic who has been very helpful with possible info but I wanted to put it out there in here too. We are headed to Snoqualmie summer 2019 to visit my sisterinlaw, her husband, and their new baby girl! Their condo ain't big enough anymore for us to crash there and hotels are stupid pricey out there. So we figured we would camp. There are a number of campgrounds right near Sno but we need to figure out if we can hang and if we can, are their sites that have room for three hammocks. It's a tall order but our hammock tribe is robust and strong and wonderful, so I have confidence y'all will help us out! Please!!! I don't want to stay in a hotel or on the...GROUND!!! UGH!!!!

Thank you all. Can't wait to get out there!

    Hey there!

I haven't had a chance to get up that way. I'm headed to Cypress Island in the San Juan this weekend but was talking with a friend about doing some fishing next week. Maybe I'll suggest heading to the middle fork of the snoqualmie and finally do a scouting mission.

    I'll let you know.

While there, take a hike up Mt Si, also known as "Twin Peaks". 4 miles, 3000' elevation gain.
Where you camp will be decided by how far away you want to be.
    I collect vintage camp stoves.
    I roast coffee at home.

You will be able to Hang. One spot normally two hammocks, probably three if you use the same tree to tie onto. My daughter and I have Hung in that general area a few times but not a lot.

We always fit in the same site. I just dislike having one end of my hammock tethered to the same tree as another hammock.

    Take long tree straps.

Just make sure you don't end up in the Black Lodge.

One thing we do want is a regular campground. I know, that limits is, but we need showers and whatnot and we will be leaving our gear all day to visit and such. So the back country sites are out unfortunately.

The last I heard (couple yrs ago now), Washington State Parks don't allow hammocks. There may be, but I'm not aware of private campgrounds in the area other than KOA style RV-tent parks, that don't have a lot of trees so they can pack 'em in like sardines.

So it looks like State parks or Campgrounds are a no but deserve a call and national parks are a yes. Now to call the Campgrounds around there and see what's what. We are looking into the two commercial hammock stands available which are shippable and worthy of our hammocks.

    I wish this was easier!!!

Free & Fun Activities in July

We are in the midst of summer – hooray! Your Washington State Parks offer places to relax and spend time with friends and family. You can hang a hammock, grab a blanket and favorite snacks for a picnic, or get into a canoe and float on a lake.
