I'm 6'6" and use a 11' DH Sparrow. It's pretty good, but sometimes I wonder if I should have went 12'.

Im 6'4" and the most comfortable I have found is a chameleon from dutch in 1.6 hexon extra wide. Its light but strong and soft feel to it.

Don't forget to check out SLD hammocks. I have all of the hammocks mentioned in this post and the SLD Trail Lair is my favorite.

5' 8" on a good day here. Just wanted to add that I'm extraordinarily jealous of all of you tall people.

I'd recommend contacting one of the cottage vendors directly with this question. I guarantee any of them have experienced creating a custom hammock for a person of such generous height.

My (biased Canadian) opinion is to get in touch with James at little shop of hammocks. The cost of the hammock will be deferred because of the dollar offset, and James will add another 45% in value* with his knowledge alone.

Seriously though... I can't recommend him highly enough.

Is a wide width key to getting a good diagonal lay if you are tall or is a longer length more important? The net less dutchware 11' in the regular width doesn't seem to be working for me at 6'3".

    My $0.02

    Both....

I'm 5'11 and 175lbs. Never been 6'3" and don't remember when I was shorter, so I can only give recommendation based on my build.

Width - 58" felt constricting, 72" felt like way too much fabric. Settled on ~64".

Length - I make them 2x the height of the occupant.

I've experimented with different lengths more than widths and that is how I build them now.

    Again.. Just my opinion

I'm 5'7" and yeah, being tall does have some advantages, but if I had to choose one extreme over the other, I'd choose short, if only because of airline seats.
