My first BlackCat tarp I made was a fail. I used what I though was a waterproof fabric. It was ripstop and leaked like a sieve. But....I looked at it as a test project. Then I went on to make 4 more tarps. Gave two away and one is now my Winter tarp and one is my Blackcrow tarp i use all the time. I love it.
Also made Frankenquilt underquilt, a down blanket for daughter and an insulated shirt. That shirt was difficult!

You definitely have the SWAG. Also I'm digging that pullover..... Just sayin.

I like learning new things, sewing was a new thing.

I’m not a designer, but I can follow directions and make things.

I’ve made furniture, bows and arrows, guitars, fishing rods, golf clubs, a baseball bat....

I also like to bake, garden, can, brew, preserve.

I guess I’m going to make a boat soon. I already read the book.

Cool deal. With that list, you might consider applying for The Most Interesting Man in the World....

Seriously though, that's impressive stuff. I'd love to see the boat.

I diy b/c I inevitably want something that nobody makes, it also gives me an opportunity to combine features from different manufacturers into my own custom gear. And because I can sometimes answer the question "what if I did X?" As often as not its a bad idea or at least impractical, but the only way to know for sure that its a bad idea is to build it.
    Good luck,

Picking up a secondhand thread injector later today, and I just placed an order w/ RBTR for some "practice" supplies. Wish me luck!

Experimentation! No way to know unless you try, right?

Awesome! Where did you get the machine if you don't mind my asking? One bit of feedback we've gotten is that beginners would love to see an article or video on how to best acquire a machine, since you know, that's kinda required to get started with DIY.

Getting to hang your DIY projects on a gear wall isn't so bad either. My kind of interior decorating

To be fair, I think I only made the two UQs. Carter (Intimidator) made a few items and there are some vendor made gems up there too. I dig it.
