Sorry to hear about the fall... Mine were L2 and L3 due to colision at home plate ....I was safe!...that is why hammocking feels so good to me now, been ten years and yes the pain does go away.

    Good luck on the recovery.

Tim, there is a state agency here in NC by the name "Vocational Rehabilitation". They helped me once in a similar situation. I only have a local #, but will see if they have a local # for your area in the am. they have the ability to cut thru alot of red tape.

i didn't cry... honest. felt kinda like it, but i didn't<g>.
    here's the latest report...

i went to a bone specialist today in W-S & he believes that what the ER doc saw as a compression fracture on the day of my fall, was actually an impression left behind (& i guess some compression) from the fall i took in 2002, & not a new fracture.
    i'm hoping he's right.
there's still a cracked rib & recovering back muscles from the landing in this most recent fall. but that's better than a compression fracture!
i still need to clear up a couple things between the bone specialist (Dr Heck) & my family physician (Dr Garrison). Dr Garrison had written me out of work until aug 21, but Dr Heck said just said go ahead with light duty for the next two weeks.
the light duty my employers have offered is driving one of the large delivery trucks two days a week & letting someone else do all the handling of produce. i would drive only.
that might be fine, but i'm concerned that this rib has begun to hurt worse than it did over the week end. it doesn't take much to set it off... reaching across to roll up a window, picking up any thing much at all, stretching to far for any reason, or just to much bouncing in the car/truck.
i certainly want to get back to working as soon as i can, but i don't want to do any thing to make things worse. i'm not sure the bone specialist i saw today acknowledged the rib.
sorry for the long explanation but maybe this way i wont have to explain it as many times.
i'd appreciate your prayers as i talk w/ the doctors, Workman's comp, & my employers.
    thanks. ...tim
PS... my hammock w/ the air mat is still the most comfortable place to be.

When is it not, as if that were ever a subject in question?
