    My new sewing machine!

Last night I picked up a used Janome 6600p sewing machine!

So far it seems like a really nice machine and I love that it has automatic thread cutting. I have some fabrics on order and some webbing to work with and I cannot wait for it to arrive so I can begin tinkering with everything.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. I have been spending the afternoon setting up a work space. My first projects are going to be some tree straps and a Xenon rain skirt.

The evolving hunt for the right machine at the right price, After 5 or 6 used machines, (which I guess I need to think about selling) , singer, janome, pfaff, etc this is the last machine I bought in Jan 2011 and I drove 600 miles one way to purchase it used. way overkill for what I have used it for but always works with very little heartache, well pleased with it.

Getting a new gear maker is very nice indeed.

My wife got me a sewing machine for Christmas a few years ago and I was jumping higher than my kids getting their xbox.

So far, you have a superior work space with an exponentially better view. Can't wait to see your new gear....And, your RSBTR bill will also soar.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Spotz, are you saying that you have this same machine?

I was originally looking at a Pfaff and I even put money down on one and had it in layaway. When I went to pick it up the other day the shop had "accidentally" sold it. So I got this machine slightly used for the same cost. I think I made out pretty well in the long ru

I am looking at a Sailrite LSZ-1 as a heavy duty portable machine. I am thinking that will be my next purchase.

Welcome to the world of Janome. You will love it. My bride got me a used one for my birthday and it’s great. Only problem is the diy addiction for which there’s no cure.
