Thanks, the end fixity factor is based on a pin-pin connection for the bolted version and a pin-Free for the tied version. At least that is my assumption.

Awesome. Thank you very much!

Forgive me if my math or trig is off, I am merely an actuary and not an engineer. But with the above (6' baseline, 10' ridgeline, 8' poles), I compute:
Distance from the midpoint of the 6' baseline to the apex: sqrt(8^2 - 3^2)=7.416
Height of the apexes above the ground: sqrt(7.416^2 - 5^2)=5.477 ft, or 65.7 inches; quite different than your 89 above.
One of us has committed a trig error, probably me, please clarify? Thanks
We're both right. Title of my calculation is bad and mis-leading. (went back and corrected, thank you) I am actually calculating the hypotenuse of the side view triangle. i.e. 7.416*12 = 89". I then calculate the side view ground angle: Inverse Cosine (Ground Length/Hyp) or cos ^-1(5/7.416)= 47.6 deg. and thus agree the true "Projected Vertical length" is really: 89 * Sin (47.6) = 65.7" or 5.477 ft.
You, through the easier, and probably more direct... Pythagorean theorem, directly solve the lengths of the side view triangle. and thus... the angle is again confirmed Inverse Tangent of (Opposite/Adjacent) or Tan^-1 (5.477/5) = 47.6 deg. nicely done.
CYOM Huh??? Calculate your own method. Defiantly multiple ways to skin this cat.![]()

Well, I'm no mathmagician like y'all, but I built a tensahedron stand today.
115" between the holes, 120" oal, works like a champ!
I used soft copper tube to make the grommets/eyelets, I just peened it down.
Thanks for all the hard work on this, it works great! I'm standing on the shoulders of giants...

I love those artisanal grommets! And that length allows such a non-taco-threatening lay with almost your entire body headward of the baseline.

I made it big for the tarp, but yeah, it works for a really comfy lay with the hammock almost perfectly level. Its huge, but I have a truck, so no worries.
Artisanal, that's funny, malleable and easily sourced is more like it!
We will be using them at fair this year, way less set up time than my old tensegrity stand; but it was a helluva conversation starter!
