Woo hoo! Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered 4 for myself at zoro.com Signing up on their email list gave me a 15% off (good for one week) code. Total cost $60.35 including tax (free shipping since >$50).
I'm not sure if I will drill into these poles or what I will do. Maybe duct tape.

Make sure you extend them out if you drill the fiberglass handle.

Great to see a few people playing with this style. Post some photos when you are done. I set mine up in my shop for a quiet afternoon nap. It has been in my truck when I head into the Snake River canyon to do some late night cat fishing. Set my rod alarm, lay back, watch the stars then go get the rod with the catfish makes a run.

Got my poles. Plenty sturdy (but of course not as sturdy as the 2x2s or tree stakes I'm used to!)

Am going with paracord "bipole" lashings for the lower connections (need to prove they won't slip though),
and thicker rope lashings onto the "screw threads" for the upper connections. The "tail" of these ropes will be used to Beckett-hitch to the CL of my hammock.

Still a work in progress. Pictures to eventually come.

Ok, stand is finished and looks great. I have tested in sitting, but my housemate had to stabilize the foot end as I couldn't tie it off to my credenza lol. I used amsteel continuous loops larkheaded around the tool attachments and through the bases--I fished the loops through with a repurposed paper clip. I did deburr and polish off the tool attachments, but it was easy as they are aluminum. I will set it up in the yard tomorrow, anchor the lines and take some pics. Now . . . it's Miller time!

Lovely! Are you fully extending the poles, or "one click in"?

I'm late to the game on this thread (6 months late!), but I just wanted to acknowledge how cool this thread is. I have a Tensa4 stand, and l really, really like it and find it incredibly useful for my motorcycle trips and so forth.

This Collapsahedron stand is a fantastic iteration, that I can see being incredibly useful for some of the other things I do, like backyard hangs, a stand for son to use when he hangs out with his friends, etc, etc.

    Really well done everyone!

I like it too. Every time i read the thread title i think “marketing problem” though. I guess not a problem for DIY. With commercial flavor i’ve learned biggest problem is PERCEPTION of instability. As soon as people can be coaxed to try, they almost all say, surprised “wow, that’s way more solid than i thought” or similar.
