Chameleon and HG Incubator: tips wanted on attaching the UQ to the hammock

I'm using some short lengths of cord to tie the D rings on my under quilt to the D rings on the hammock. So far I'm only using two attachment points, one at my feet and one at my shoulder. (Just to be clear, I am hooking the suspension shock cord into the hooks at either end of the Chameleon, though it tends to come out every now and then, and (of course) the Incubator's S carabiners are attached to the continuous loops.)

I was wondering what everyone else is doing? More attachment points? Shock cord instead of plain cord? Some special bling?

Any suggestions would be most welcome before I disappear down a rabbit hole of bling oggling, Google searches, and YouTube watching?

    Thanks!

"Short lengths of cord to tie the D rings on my under quilt to the D rings on the hammock?" I have no idea what that means, or why it would be desirable or necessary.

I have a Chameleon and an Incubator. I just hook the S carabiners to the continuous loops, then attach the quilt hooks on the side of the hammock to the shock cord on the sides of the underquilt. I don't even find the quilt hooks all that effective (they often come loose), but it doesn't really matter to me since I was hammocking and underquilting long before quilt hooks were ever invented. The quilt hooks are useful (when they work), but not essential.

You might be overthinking things a wee bit. The whole "D-rings on UQ connected to D-rings on hammock" sounds a bit excessive, and not how things were meant to go together.

The D rings are for the tie-outs. If you attach to any of them at all, do no more than one and have that be the one at your shoulder, assuming that D ring is in a good position to do so.

I run Costco quilt and just rig up to the CLs and have a couple mitten hooks to attach to the Drings. So pretty much the same as everyone else has said but going overboard with attachment points hasn’t made hanging the UQ any warmer.

Yup! I jumped at a solution without stating the problem; which is that my feet keep pushing up over the underquilt. I found the solution in Shug's underquilts re-visited video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9N3KkV5Zf4 -- Tighten up one corner and loosen the opposite. No attachments needed.

You're right. I'm was allowing myself to be dazzled by all those attachment points on the uq & hammock, thinking they were there to keep things in place.
