I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.
Fat but nimble. Ha.
...and no, I couldn’t climb that fence if there were a grizzly chasing me AND a table full of sticky buns on the other side
Parking at Atsion or Lebanon aka Brendan T Byrne office works, Brendan Byrne being north. From the BT Byrne office to Batona is about 14 miles but you can park at the wash house near the campgrounds (just past Pakim Pond) and make it a 10 mile walk.
The RR tracks from Atsion are doable but covered in tall grass at points and the lone star tick nymphs are brutal right now. Definitely prep your clothes, gear and self if choosing that route, wise to do anyway, but little tick nests, ugh.
Normally I’d step right up and offer to shuttle you to/from wherever but my future isn’t clear enough to commit. I’d say catching a ride out to your car or whatever shouldn’t be a problem on Sunday if needed.
Pretty sure you could train it to/from Hammonton and it would give someone a chance to grab some terrific Mexican food in town.

My brother and I had a great time last year, and we hope to do it again. Just waiting to see if I will be needed at play rehearsals that weekend. I may have to scoot out and come back. I am operating at a camping deficit this year and need to make up some time!!
Bottom line, yes.
“Normally” June-Aug is the nymph period but the whole lifecycle thing from larvae to nymph to adult can take up to 2 years with nymphs able to go about 15 months without a “blood meal”.
Generally in my experience, ticks favor grasses and some bushes. I avoid deer trails to some extent but definitely avoid common deer choke points. And it’s the Pine Barrens so just do the normal tick thing.
Not trying to create tick paranoia but if one were to plan to hike known grassy areas for any length, I wouldn’t slack on Anti tick SOPs. Given that the RR was a solid option for Mike, I put my 2 cents in. That and I know someone who just tap danced thru a tick nest and they are bummin’. Was at their house though, not camp.
FWIW, I’ve been out to Batona and other areas several times in the past 3 months with little to no tick issues. Skeeters were more of a problem during regular feeding times.

Wow, 60 bucks minimum for this site. I'm ready to click on it if we really need it. Looks like the last one site left.
Ok I grabbed site A.
