I used to miss having all my gear organized inside my tent with me, but I’ve just gotten used to only having a few essentials inside the hammock.

Now, I can’t really think of anything I don’t like about hammocks.

You're so right. I have had to rethink my answer.

The worst part is knowing that my hammock has a small, almost finger diameter sized, hole and I don't have any funds to replace my hammock. Luckily it's on the wall part of the hammock and has a little less stress on it, but it's also a few inches from the edge where it can rip badly if I sit on it wrong.

This is the worst feeling that I may be out in the woods(like this upcoming weekend) and I will have a catastrophic failure.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

This. Besides, modern boxer jocks are as modest as a pair of shorts or swim trunks.

I am old and stiff; getting down and back up staking a tarp is getting harder and harder.

I think the worst part has to be putting everything away once I am back from a trip. I don't want to put it away, I would rather just stay out there, alas life and work doesn't allow for me to live out in the woods in a hammock (yet).

Worst part of hammock camping for me was last Sunday morning Cub Scouts talking loud at 5:15AM (6:45 reveille).

If I am lucky it is cold so I don't want to dilly-dally. My pants are balled up in the Chameleon sidekick . . . and hanging my legs over the edge of the hammock basically seals the pocket opening so I have to rock back and forth to get anything bulky out of the pocket. I lean back and get my feet into the pants legs and then slide my shoes on while the pants are basically around my ankles/calves (for a 240 lb man this is not easy). Once the shoes/boots are on I can stand up and slide the pants on and get the belt buckled. Now it is time to pee (as quickly as possible) and then get another layer on the top and consider a fire (when it is cold) or think about breakfast (if it is warm).

Just wondering of anyone else has this experience and what they have done to reduce the frustration.

All of this is wonderful but, if I had to change anything about hammock camping, it would be putting my pants on in the morning.
I am heavier than you and I change pants in the hammock. I push my tush up kind of half crab walk on heels and shoulders and push pants to knees then remove one leg at a time. Reverse to put pants on. This can be done without completely removing top quilt. Shirt - I have to sit up.

Tried this at the beginning of my hammock journey - found it impractical and inefficient. I just get up, get out, get done, and get back in "bed".

What is the worst part of hammocking . . . for you

emfalcon nailed my SECOND worst part . . . putting it all away knowing it is going back in the truck just as soon as possible.

I don’t get them often but when I do... leg cramps and hammocks aren’t much fun. Especially the back of the thigh.

Worst part for me... getting up when I’ve slept so well! I don’t always sleep great in the hammock but always better than in a bed.... can’t even talk about the ground. Lol.
