Tip O' the Hat from Fuquay Varina, NC

Hey there hammock fam. Just joined up to the forums after I've been creeping around the posts for a hot minute. Usually try to pop out a sub zero hike on the AT every year with a couple of guys starting the trip out towards Thomas Knob shelter. Been working on lightening the load and warming up the gear. Bought the lady a cheapie sling on our last outing and have been trying to convince her to roll out of a tent and into a hammock for overnight. Any tips on convincing the ol' ball and chain would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to engaging with you cats!

Good luck with converting her to hammocking.

    BTW, any relation to Frodo.

Heyo - welcome from Charlotte. I'm betting you didn't have to fight off many people for shelter space at that temp. And I don't have any advice on getting somebody else to move to a hammock - some just prefer tents.

Thanks Paul! Took at peek at the overnight hike with the daughter. 1. Beautiful video. Makes me miss my ol' Alumni of Happy Appy. 2. Man it's great to see a Deuter pack. Love those things. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Thank ya Shug. Guess I need to get back in the studio and plow out some more tunes for the Nut Hut.

Is she a cold sleeper? My wife's interest was piqued when I put her in my WBBB with HG 20 degree quilt set. I just wanted her to test it out in the yard and she almost slept outside that night! For whatever reason, she still likes to the tent on our motorcycle camping trips but I think its because she likes to have all her stuff in the tent with her.

Good call Doublefister. I'll see if I can trick her into and accidental long-term nap.
