Just bought the hammock gear econ incubator 0. This winter should be much warmer then last winter. I tried patching gear together last year,
It didnt work out as well as i hoped. oh well live and learn.

Just don't get too overconfident! It can get cold in Michigan.
I'm a big fan of the 10* buffer rule - always make sure your insulation is rated at least 10* warmer than the expected lows. I've been out a few times in sub-zero weather and always stacked quilts (like my 0* Incubator and 40* Phoenix) just to make sure I didn't get cold.

Good advise
I just received a 0* UGQ Zeppelin and I too am looking forward to some winter hangs! This thing is a beast compared to my DIY double layer Costco underquilt or my 40* incubator Econ.
Agree wholeheartedly with the 10 degree rule though!

I agree with the 10 degree buffer rule, except if I am by open water like a river. Then I would recommend a 20 degree buffer-it just seems more damp and takes more insulation to stay warm.
I second that water rule. Camped by a few lakes and streams and it always felt colder.
Just learned my lesson about the buffer rule so i had to upgrade to a 0° lynx cant wait for the colder weather!
Great to see everyone paying attention to the buffer rule.... find yours and live by it.
Welcome to the deeper cold world Erok
Life is too Short to not feed the addiction....Hang on and explore the World
We typically recommend a 10 degree buffer rule as well. Just to be safe, since everyone sleeps so differently. We hope you enjoy your winter hang!
I can't wait for my quilt to get here. It's going on week 5 and I'm driving the wife crazy lol
