    WBBB Water Problems ?

    Hi Everyone,

I'm very close to ordering the WBBB and Superfly with the doors . My only concern is even with the fly and doors water will still have a tendency to run down the webbing and line on the Blackbird getting the head and foot area wet. Could anyone enlighten me as to if this will be the case ? If so are there ways to alleviate this problem ?

    Thanks in advance , John

Do a search under "Drip strips" and you'll get a lot of options to read on the methods and preferences of folks on the forums. Lots of options.

The buckles, or rings, will drip the water off your webbing before it gets to the hammock.

If the line suspension is an option drip strips would be needed or convert the line to WS (no need for drip strips)or purchase a set from one of our forum members (opie, AHS plus probably others).

WBG ties a knot a few inches up the line for that suspension, which acts as a drip-point.

I planned on going with the adjustable webbing suspension set up Brandon offers.

You'll be fine. I've spent nights in serious downpours with my webbing suspension and the SMC rings I use shed water away with no problem. My wife's BB has the newer cinch buckle and it stops water as well.

Yeah, no worries at all about water dripping down the lines in a BB, both suspension systems have drip points. You'll be fine.

Been in some serious storms with the black bird with the stock adjustable webbing suspension. No problems with water travelling down the lines and into my hammock.

    You'll be fine.

Interesting. I converted mine to whoopie slings (homemade) and undid Brandon's amsteel knot and replaced it with a larkshead on the end of my WS. Since I no longer have rings should I add something between hammock and WS to cause the water to drip?
