I guess you could put the snaps on both long sides of the tarp and carry either 1 or 2 attachments it would really open up your living space in bad weather.

I've done this with a diy sil poncho. I added a few webbing loops to the poncho, which were appropriately spaced to match tarp.
It works great.

I'm thinking about sewing attachments inside at the pulls outs and perhaps beak/extenders to the ends. I use a WBRR and the doors will not close completely. Will post results.
