Reading the title and part of the first paragraph, I thought this was a troll.. but too much time went into typing the post for that to be the case. For me, the whole concept is too silly to warrant reading the entire OP. EXTREME relaxing.

HYOH, and at your own pace.

I thought it would be who could take the longest nap at a group hang.

I would definitely win at Sipsey.

Sometime in the distant past there was a thread where folks timed their setup. I think it was everything in the backpack; walk up to tree; setup hammock; then take it back down again. It was kinda fun to watch.

Bit of history but HNO developed and Medicineman used a sock/tarp combo called the Airship / Dirigible . It would be pretty hard to beat that setup time, which included tarp/sock, UQ, TQ and hammock in less than 2 minutes.

It's not like the entire weekend would be eaten up by the competition. An hour or so at most. Get one of the vendors to supply several identical sets of stuff. Or hammocks from one, tarps from another, etc. Run "heats" if need be. It would be fun for competitors and spectators. Use stands to further level the playing field. Have a start finish line. set up, lay in the hammock for a set time, take down, and pack things away to be identical to how thing were at the start.

Just one more part of a hang weekend.

While others are competing in speed trials with their setups, I'll be drinking bourbon and baking bread. That will make me very happy.

    When is the hang?
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Oh yea Jellyfish, after I get setup, then I can relax faster. There is something relaxing about rigging my hammock and tarp. If I hang on successive weekends, during setup...I go into a zone of relaxation...

Too bad Rockets Redglare isn't around anymore. I'd love to hear his opinion on the subject.
