Extremely breathable... The air permeability of the new MONOLITE 1.0 is around 1000 CFM. To put that in perspective, our 1.6/1.7 HyperD and MTN series hammock fabrics are somewhere around 50 CFM.

We don't have exact numbers for our Noseeum mesh, but another 20D Noseeum we tested was around 1300 CFM for reference. Keep in mind air perm is akin to wind resistance. Breathability is the ability to transfer moisture through and out of the fabric, but the two are related.

So Monolite is new. But the teaser showed a different fabric. I assume that wasn’t a ruse, but 1 of 2 or more new fabrics. Right? Is the fuzzy one still awaiting IP issue clearance?

Ahh...good point about the width. You could do multiple seams, but that defeats the purpose.

Curious what the pattern looks like up close.

Correct. We have two new hammock fabrics coming out. This thread has started to contain info on both - the now announced MONOLITE and the yet to be announced FABRIC X.

Just a tip, teasing the public with a new fabric 2.5+ month before actual release hurt the cottage industries, a bet a lot of people like me are waiting to see if it is worth it before pulling the trigger on a new hammock. I would have already order a dream or dutch hammock before christmas, but waited, and now I have no money left. LOL

So if this were to be used as a top cover, would a vent still be necessary?
