Anyone used the new Camo Hex fly?

    http://hennessyhammock.com/specs-camoasymhexfly.html

I am considering this fly to replace my stock fly. I haven't been out in the rain yet so I'm pretty worried about being out in a storm with it. If you've used the Camo Hex fly please let me know how it held up.

Thanks for the quick reply, have you had it out in a decent storm? Your setup looks nice!

For my very first outing in a hammock I used the Camo Hex tarp. The state park I was at in AZ got hit on the Sunday of a 3-day weekend with a Major Thunderstorm -I'm talking Ground-shaking thunderclaps, heavy rain, marble-sized hail and 40-50 MPH winds for about an hour.

I retreated to the hammock. One side of the tarp was plastered against the hammock body from the wind, the other side whipping a bit, but other than that, NOT A DROP of moisture under the tarp, and the hammock barely swayed; the tarp was taking all of the buffeting from the wind.

The first lesson I learned from this place was "Do NOT use the stock diamond Hennessy tarp, you will regret it." And I took that to heart. Glad I did.

The tarp is a bit heavy, compared to offerings from Warbonnet, OES, Backwoodsdaydreamer, etc. but performs very well.

    My two cents...

thx and yes i have been in a few good storms-last summer the wind and rain was so bad that my tent dwelling buddy thought he was going to find me all wound up in the morning but it was great and again no moisture at all-then again i never had a huge problem with the stock tarp-although i never liked the size it kept me dry always but took away my view when it rained as you really have to get it close-tent pegs? sure whatever you have works-tent pegs-rocks little trees,shrubs-thats not critical

great responses, thanks. Rilmoigan are you recommending a warbonnet offering? I'm very happy with my hennessy hammock and after I get the zipper mod I won't be interested in anything else hammock-wise but I do want to find a tarp I'll be keeping for the long run.

Are you sure this is the same camo-hex that is in the link above. I thought it was a brand new 2009 product. What supertramp said about the camo-hex opening up the view is another factor I didn't even think about but would really enjoy.
