    UQ Help

With my upcoming purchase of the warbonnet eldorado, I need to get an under quilt. I live in Texas so i figure a 30-40 degree quilt should be enough. Should I get a specific left/right lay UQ or will a UQ with straight baffles be more beneficial? Thanks in advance for the help!

I would suggest symmetrical UQ. The first UQ I made was for Warbonnet Blackbird and I made it skewed. But now, many years and hammocks later, I wish I had made it symmetrical.

I always recommend going conservative with an UQ. If it's warm weather, you can vent it (not so with a top quilt).

I've attended the annual Texas hang in November when it was barely above freezing, plus a breeze coming off Fairfield lake. I would get an UQ at least that warm because you don't want to miss that hang!

ON the other hand, if you know that you typically lay one way, a Wooki will give you the easiest way to have an UQ on an Eldorado...

You can't go wrong with HG, UGQ, or LL (to name only 3) in terms of traditional UQs. The WB Wooki concept has sure attracted a following!

If you don't need the light weight and small packing size of down, look to AHE for a synthetic UQ.

Wookie was the first uq I've never had to adjust but your locked in one way. Doesn't bother me. May bother some.

I would suggest a 20 degree underquilt. I live in Dallas and love camping in our winter which can get down in the twenties. In the fall I can vent it and in the summer here you don’t need any insulation.
