Greyhound bus rides suck. I know this. It's almost like a insane asylum on wheels.

I'd fly into Atlanta. From what I understand there are several groups/people that will transport you from there.
Ohio to Georgia on a bus wouldn't be to bad. You still have to find a way to get to the AT from Atlanta. Lots of hostels will pick you up. Go to www.whiteblaze.net and start lurking..tons of info to look at
