    Top Quilt Length

I am new to hammocking and have settled on the HG Econ Burrow 20 degree for my top quilt. My question is about the length. I am 5'7'' and the short version is approximately 2 inches longer than I am tall. Is this too small? If I went with standard which is 74 inches, would that be too big? Thanks for your feedback.

I bought a WL top quilt not to long ago and went with the longer version because i wanted to cover my whole body without haveing to curl up to get the TQ to fully cover from head to toe. So it depends on how you sleep if you curl up when you sleep that might be enough if you like to sprawl out and cover your head i would go with the longer version HYOH!

That's what I thought. Will go with the standard. Mark.

My LL top quilt is 85". I'm 5'9" and wanted to be able to cover over my head if needed without curling up and since the foot box is heavily insulated (0° quilt with 4oz over fill in the foot box alone) I over estimated the length on purpose. Also, my son borrows the quilts sometimes and he is taller than me. I have not regretted the extra length or weight on a cold windy night. Some people like smaller quilts and that's fine.

The math: 85" (exterior length)-69" (my height)-3.5" (foot box baffle)= 12.5" extra interior length roughly

If I lay on my side and tuck it over my covered head it creates a nice sized pocket (12.5"-3.5" (baffle on top of head) = 9") and allows for me to breath out the side without really compressing anything from pulling it tight to stay warm. My son has less room but he is still fine with it.

Your welcome. I think that standard length will suit you well unless your trying to count every gram in which case I assume that you would have opted for the 3/4 length from the start. Good luck and of course post pics

My TQ has a sewn footbox and is 7" taller than I am. I find that works well for me.

Great! I left town over the weekend and it was a nice surprise to return and see the daytime temperature (for now, at least) has finally dropped below 80.
